The completely redesigned 2026 Toyota 4Runner i-FORCE MAX Hybrid TRD Off-Road Premium marks the highly anticipated launch of the 4Runner's sixth generation. Built on the rugged TNGA-F global truck platform (shared with the Tacoma, Tundra, and Land Cruiser), this model completely modernizes the legendary SUV while significantly boosting its off-road capability.
The TRD Off-Road Premium trim combined with the high-output i-FORCE MAX Hybrid powertrain sits at the pinnacle of heavy-duty trail performance and modern cabin comfort.
High-Output i-FORCE MAX Hybrid Powertrain
This next-generation hybrid system is tuned strictly for massive torque and low-end power, perfect for rock crawling and heavy towing:
Engine: 2.4L Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine integrated with a 48-hp electric motor.
Total Output: A massive 326 horsepower and a class-leading 465 lb-ft of torque available at just 1,700 RPM (nearly doubling the torque of the previous generation's V6).
Transmission: Smooth 8-speed automatic transmission.
Drivetrain: Standard part-time 4WD system with an electronically controlled 2-speed transfer case (high/low range), Active Traction Control (A-TRAC), and a standard electronic locking rear differential.
Towing Capacity: Up to 6,000 lbs, a substantial upgrade over the previous generation.

Engineered to dominate technical trails, the TRD Off-Road Premium features Toyotas latest terrain management tech:
Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism (SDM): An all-new feature for 2026 that allows the driver to disconnect the front stabilizer bar at the push of a button, vastly increasing wheel articulation for crawling over massive boulders.
Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) & Crawl Control: The MTS system now functions in both 4WD High and 4WD Low, automatically regulating wheel spin on mud, sand, or rock. Upgraded Crawl Control acts as a silent, low-speed off-road cruise control.
Trail Armor: Heavy-duty underbody skid plates and rugged TRD alloy wheels wrapped in aggressive all-terrain tires.
