How to Check Your Credit Score

Your credit score is an extremely important number in your financial life. The higher your score, the easier it will be to secure loans and lower interest rates. Credit scores range from 300 to 850 and are determined by several factors. Payment history and amount owed make up the majority of your score. If you're thinking about buying a new car, it might be helpful to know your credit score going in.

You can access your report for free once a year at https://www.annualcreditreport.com or by calling 1-877-322-8228. The three major credit reporting agencies are Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion and each credit report is important.

You can also request to see your report within 60 days of being denied credit, if you believe your report is inaccurate, are on welfare, or are unemployed.

While it may be boring, checking out your credit report once a year could help you spot inaccuracies.

If you find an inaccuracy, you need to request a dispute with the agency right away. Don't put it off - you only have 30 days after receiving the report to dispute the inaccuracy.

Keep up with your credit score. It is your financial future, after all. To learn more about our new and used Volvo vehicles, fill out an inquiry or visit Dick Dyer Volvo today!
